Areas of Work
Creativity is always with me – wherever I go
- Throughout many inspiring years as a special education teacher in kindergartens, primary and specialist schools, I taught a wide range of creative activities – from drawing, printing and crafting to pottery, felting, needlework and woodworking.
- As an artist, I now create in my own visual language: minimalist, clear, and always in gold. My works are inspired by Cubism and the Bauhaus movement – which fascinated me from the start and ultimately led me to study interior architecture.
- When I create personal symbols, I work as a channel. I take time to tune into the person’s energy in stillness – and then allow the symbol to flow through me and take shape in gold.
Things most people don’t know about me
Curious facts & quiet truths
- I have two siblings: an older sister and a younger brother – making me a classic middle child.
- As an art teacher, I always found it hard to grade my students’ drawings – to me, their creative expression mattered more than perfection.
- I wrote my first book in third grade and I still have it.
- The images find me. I see them in visions and need to draw them so that the next one can arrive.
- I participated in the 13th International Speaker Slam alongside 146 other speakers and we broke two world records: one for the number of participants, and one for representation from 21 countries.
- On my YouTube channel, you’ll find creative art videos for kids. One of them has been viewed almost 1.2 million times.
- All good things come in threes: After leaving interior architecture due to the industry collapse in the early 2000s – and later stepping back from teaching due to medical reasons – art became my third career path.
- At age 18, I already knew the name of my future son – even though he wouldn’t be born until seven years later.
- Creativity has always been my way to recharge, find balance and reconnect with inner peace.
- My first published book „Entspannungsgeschichten für Kinder“ (“Relaxation Stories for Children”) almost didn’t make it to print. When I first presented the manuscript at the 2010 Didacta education fair, I was incredibly nervous.
- The highest point I’ve ever reached is the Annapurna Base Camp in Nepal, at 4,130 metres above sea level.
- In 2019, I travelled solo across Europe for 4 months in my VW camper van – a T4 California – and met amazing people (and parts of myself).
- At 13 months old, I was critically ill after a polio vaccination. The experience left behind many surgical scars and lasting effects.
- I once travelled all the way to China for a communication training where even showing numbers with your fingers is culturally different.
- After nearly 20 years in early education, I can recognise athlete’s foot and norovirus by smell. (Yes, really.)
